TnT Project Car

This EK4 1600 SOHC (non VTEC) started life as a give away for a bank promotion in 1998. In 2001 we purchased the standard Civic as a go to and from work car so we didn't have to run the SS commodore as it was not too fuel efficient. We then took the Civic to Dunedin (211km’s from Invercargill) for a run. That was the last time we took it too far with that setup, it was really slow and lacked power.  We then decided it was time for a engine upgrade, which turned out to be a B18C conversion. After four years of playing and trying different engine combinations we have ended up with what you see here, a Street legal full interior daily driven Sunday racer that does a bit of drag racing.

Keep an eye on this page as the TnT sponsored Civic goes through an upgrade of it's current setup. First indications are that it will get a new motor and box combo and some body work at the sametime.
We are hoping that it will be ready for the start of the 2008/2009 drag racing season.
So watch this space as the changes are made the list below will be updated with the current package or be the first to find out the news on the TnT Civic by signing up for our news letter (by sending your email address to info@tntperformance.co.nz).

There is probably other bits and pieces as well but that is all I can remember at the moment. But  the car is still in development (as all cars are) and I think it always will be, it's best 1/4 mile run to date is 11.66 @ 121mph perhaps a diet is required for the car and driver!  This was done at the very first meeting the car had been to since coming off the dyno, so the numbers are only going to go down from here.

A big thanks has to go to The engine builders in the States, Andrew Short of RALLY AS in Auckland, Craig in Ashburton, Warren at Waverley motors for keeping the car going, Kevin and the crew at John McMurdo Auto Painting for keeping the car looking good, Todd McDonald for technical advice and support, Jason for all the support and Carolyn (wife) for being understanding and providing all the support at drag meetings.

With the up and coming season looking like it is going to go off and with the new engine and body package, the owners of the Civic are currently looking for further sponsors for the 2008/2009 season. See your logo featured all around the country, have your name mentioned in any publications the car is featured in, be associated with a strong clean car that attracts attention where ever it goes from Invercargill to Auckland. Please email tony@tntperformance.co.nz for further details.

But hey if you see it at a drag strip come and have a look and say Hi (if you mention you saw the car on this site, we'll show you a couple of bits that others don't get to see).
